7 The key causes of weight gain and obesity

Obesity is the biggest health problem, nowadays everyone is troubled by it. Let’s see what are the causes of weight gain and obesity.

It is attached to various health-related conditions, collectively known as metabolic syndrome. These include high blood pressure, high blood sugar, a bad blood lipid profile,  gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, respiratory problems, dyslipidemia, and endometrial, breast, prostate, and colon cancers.
Nowadays, everyone’s having extra fats in their body that lead to affect their health.

However, it is generally caused by eating unhealthy food an excessive amount not moving too much.

Let’s see why obesity is caused and how to prevent it.

1. Taking calories in excess amount

The energy value of food is estimated in units called calories. A man should take approx 2,500 calories a day to maintain a healthy weight, and a woman needs approx 2,000 calories a day.
This amount of calories may seem high, but it can be comfortable to reach if you eat certain types of food. For instance, eating fries and a milkshake can total approx 1000 calories and that’s just 1 meal.
Another problem is that several people are not physically active, so lots of the calories they absorb end up being stored in their bodies as fat.
Hence consuming too many calories cause a lot of fat in your body, so take a limited amount of calories in a day.

2. Obesity may occur due to genetic

Obesity has a powerful genetic element. Kids of overweight parents are much more possible to become overweight than children of slim parents.

Many people challenge there’s no point trying to lose weight because ‘it runs in my family’ or ‘it’s in my genes.

It may be true that several genetic characteristics obtained from parents such as having a large desire may make losing weight more difficult, but it surely does not make it impossible.

Many cases found that obesity occurs due to poor eating habits.

3. Poor diet

Poor diet is the main reason for obesity, it does not occur overnight. It begins slowly over time, as a result of fancy diet and lifestyle choices including:

  • Those who drink alcohol in an excessive amount cause the fat in their bodies.
  • Eating fast foods that are rich in fat and sugar causes fat in your body.
  • Drinking too much sugar drinks like soft drinks and fruit juices causes fat.
  • Eating so much any food is excessive and rich in fats and sugar that cause fat and obesity in your body.

4. Junk food

Junk food is unhealthful food that is high in fat, sugar also calories, with light protein, vitamins, minerals, or other major sorts of nutritional value.

These goods are produced to be cheap, last long on the shelf, and taste so amazingly good that they are difficult to resist.

When junk food is eaten regularly, the excess fat, mere carbohydrates, and sugar found in junk food add to a risen risk of obesity, cardiovascular disease, and many other chronic health conditions.

The researcher found that the consumption of fast foods in Ghana suggested a direct similarity between the consumption of junk food and obesity rates. The article asserts that obesity results in related complex health matters including heart attack rates.

5. Sugar

Many people like to take too much sugar in their diet but they might be unaware of the effect of sugar on their health.

Added sugar may be the only worst viewpoint of the modern diet. But in the earlier time, no one was including too much sugar in their diet due to this they do not get so much fat in their body.

Although, sugar alters the hormones and biochemistry of your body when absorbed in excess. This, in change, provides weight gain.

Researchers believe that excessive sugar intake may be one of the main causes of obesity.

6. Obesity occurs due to a lack of physical activity

Lack of physical activity is a different essential factor associated with obesity. Many people have jobs that entail sitting at a desk for most of the day. They also rely on their cars, rather than walking or cycling.

They just eat and work while sitting on the chair the whole day. But when they get the time they spend their time, watching movies or surfing social media and many more things instead of exercising

The Department of Health and Social Care suggests that adults do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, such as cycling or fast walking, every week.

If you want to lose weight then you have to do more exercise to burn your fat.

7. Obesity occurs due to certain medications

Many pharmaceutical drugs can lead to weight gain as a side effect.

For instance, antidepressants have been linked to modest weight gain over time.

Certain medicines, including some corticosteroids, and medications for epilepsy and diabetes, cause fat and obesity.
